Moringa Tea

SKU: N/A Category:

The base of our tea is the leaves of the Moringa Oleifera tree, also known as the Tree of Life or the Miracle Tree, which highlights how revered this plant is.

Believed to be native to Northern India, Moringa was used there for medicinal purposes around 5,000 years ago, and was also considered a very important plant by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. In ancient Egypt, Moringa was used in cooking, in perfumery, as a medicinal herb and as part of the embalming procedure. In third world countries, the moringa tree has a history of fighting malnutrition, especially among infants and their mothers.

Moringa is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids, with the leaves being the most nutritious part of the tree. The antioxidant-rich leaves contain vitamins A, B6, B7, B2, B3, C, D, E and K, as well as calcium, potassium, zinc, magnesium, iron, copper, sulfur, nitrogen, phosphorus, manganese and protein. They have antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiepileptic, hypotensive, antidiabetic, antipyretic, antiulcer, antitumor, antibacterial, antifungal, hepatoprotective, cholesterol-lowering, diuretic properties, and act as a stimulant for cardiac activity and blood circulation. Moringa tea also boosts your mood with its wonderfully warming, spicy flavor that helps relieve anxiety, depression, and fatigue. It’s easy to see why the moringa tree is called the Tree of Life and touted as a superfood for seniors, thanks to its high nutritional value coupled with amazing health benefits.

For Seniors

As we age, our bodies and organs become more susceptible to disease and infection. It’s important that our bodies receive all the nutrients they need to protect us and function properly. Moringa tea is extremely rich in nutrients, specifically compounds that are essential for protecting and reducing the effects of old age. Moringa contains an important compound called zeatin, which improves stress levels in cells that are at risk of dying and protects the brain from amyloid plaques, which are thought to be the basis of Alzheimer’s disease. Moringa tea is an extremely rich source of calcium, iron, potassium, and protein. It contains 4 times more calcium than milk, 12 times more iron than spinach and 15 times more potassium than a banana. Calcium is an extremely important mineral throughout our lives, responsible for strong bones and teeth, body growth and development, transmission of nerve impulses, stimulation of hormone secretion, muscle contraction, blood clotting, normal heartbeat and much more. We need a small amount of calcium in our diet throughout our lives, but after the age of 50, more calcium is needed to support all of these functions, in particular to prevent diseases such as osteoporosis by maintaining bone density, strength and mineral content. Iron is vital for the immune system and helps in the formation of hemoglobin and myoglobin, which carry oxygen to our brain and muscles, thereby improving mobility and mental capacity. Potassium helps regulate nerve signals, fluid balance and muscle contractions. Protein protects against muscle loss and maintains the body’s cells and vital organs. Good nutrition is vital throughout life, but becomes even more important as we get older, as good nutrition in later life can still help prevent and reverse some of the effects of aging.

Детоксикация организма, укрепление иммунитета и защита жизненно важных органов

Antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties help rid the body of harmful free radicals, protect the body from oxidative stress, aging, and several chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, aging, weakened immune system, and more. Moringa also boosts immunity, preparing the body to fight common infections, viruses, and diseases. It is rich in compounds such as quercetin, chlorogenic acid, isothiocyanate, and niaziminin, which are good for the cardiovascular system as they can help lower blood lipids and glucose, reduce insulin resistance, prevent thickening of the arteries, stabilize blood pressure, and lower cholesterol. Preliminary studies have also shown that moringa reduces liver damage and fibrosis and restores liver enzymes to normal levels, thereby reducing oxidative stress in the liver. In addition, threonine prevents fat accumulation in the liver. The calcium in moringa is insoluble, so there is no need to worry about kidney stones, in fact, it protects against kidney and bladder stones. Studies have shown that the glucosinolates found in moringa, specifically niazimin and benzyl isothiocyanate, have anti-cancer and chemoprotective properties, protecting against the effects of aggressive cancer treatments as well as inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. They have also been shown to reduce enlarged prostates and help in the prevention of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Another study has shown that moringa leaves are very effective in regulating thyroid hormone, especially in women. The nutrients found in moringa help the body absorb more iron and are effective in the treatment and prevention of both anemia and sickle cell anemia. Rich in vitamins C and E and phenylalanine, moringa supports brain health by preventing oxidation and degeneration of neurons, thereby preventing cognitive decline or dementia. Preliminary tests for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease have also shown positive results.

Anti-inflammatory

Moringa has traditionally been used to treat inflammation, and in a study conducted by Philippine DOST scientists, this has been scientifically confirmed. Persistent inflammation can be linked to chronic health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, respiratory problems, arthritis, obesity, stroke, and cancer. Studies on moringa have shown that it inhibits the enzyme COX-2, which is responsible for both inflammation and the pain associated with it. This makes moringa tea an excellent remedy for rheumatism, arthritis, and joint pain, and it can also protect against swelling and reduce the severity of asthma attacks. Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease whose main cause is inflammation due to dysfunction of the immune system, which also causes the destruction of cells and their accumulation on the surface of the skin. This disease increases the risk of cancer and heart disease. Studies on the condition have shown that diet plays an important role in managing psoriasis, and important bioactive compounds such as oleic acid, thiocarbamates, and moringin present in moringa help maintain healthy skin in sufferers.

Antimicrobial and Antifungal Properties of Moringa

Back in the late 1940s, the Department of Biochemistry at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore isolated a compound in moringa called pterygospermine, which has been scientifically proven to have antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Since then, laboratory tests have even shown that moringa is more effective than antibiotics against certain types of bacteria and fungi. It is effective against certain strains of bacteria that cause digestive, blood, and urinary tract problems, as well as fungi that cause skin infections. It can protect against salmonella, E. coli, and rhizopus. Because it has blood-clotting properties, a moringa tea poultice is useful for wounds, scrapes, and cuts, speeding up healing, reducing blood clotting time, and further protecting against bacterial infection.

Reducing Body Fat

Moringa is a highly nutritious, low-calorie, and energy booster that can immobilize fat deposits, especially visceral fat. Lab tests have confirmed that it can improve fat breakdown and reduce fat formation. It also contains the compound phenylalanine, which improves communication between brain nerve cells and reduces hunger pains.

Improves Digestion

Moringa leaves contain a lot of fiber, most of which is insoluble, which meets the requirements for good digestion. Also, antibiotic and antibacterial properties suppress pathogens that cause stomach upset, while anti-inflammatory properties can help with disorders such as colitis.

Making Moringa Tea

For 1 glass of tea – add 3-4 teaspoons of dried moringa leaves and pour boiling water (about 80 degrees). Let it brew for 4-5 minutes
